Do men feel and think differently than women? The cliché still persists that men are more enthusiastic about technology or assertive, while women are particularly caring. But can this be scientifically proven? Do hormones like testosterone and oxytocin affect the brains and therefore the behavior of women and men differently?
The documentation examines common stereotypes and asks why false simplifications are so persistent in people's minds. The hormone testosterone is still used to explain why men are more willing to take risks and why women allegedly find it difficult to hold management positions.
In recent years, researchers have gained amazing new insights in interdisciplinary studies. Gender-specific dividing lines cannot be drawn as clearly as long thought. Hormones are more complex and diverse than is widely believed.
